Establishing, Organising and Managing
Project management is probably one of the most important tasks when starting any new project, having a set goal and knowing where to look in case you miss or forget anything should always be nearby. Using ‘Trello’, I was able to manage my tasks easily and map out exactly what needed to be covered and considered while working on my map. Milestones and goals were placed in to present achievements through working, and being able to identify what was left to work on became quite easy to see.
Despite the fact I knew I would have some difficulty achieving some goals given the travelling and VPN I’d have to use to stay connected to the UK servers, I managed to work through all of my milestones successfully, achieving all of my set goals along the way by marking them green for (achieved).
Although whilst working everything had gone very smoothly when I found myself carefully adding in my assets, I realised that due to the amount of memory space in the VR Frame website, I was unable to add all of my designs in the way I had hoped, meaning I was left to minimise the amount of work I wanted to add into my map, which became quite a significant down-fall when making such a detailed map. This became one of my biggest challenges.
To overcome these challenges, I had to carefully remove some assets and re-consider some of my design choices when adding in more pieces. Some of the final designs that I had intended to add were left out due to this problem, I was eventually left to re-evaluate my map sketch on paper, to the one online, and this is why my task then was left listed to ‘amber’ as it needed to be carefully looked at and reviewed.
Further challenges I felt that I may experience during making this project I had early on added within my notes and listed down some ways to resolve and overcome those problems, so that If they were to occur in the future of my project, I was ready to fix and remove those challenges as soon as possible, to avoid time wasted.
