Why is it relevant?
Looking for purposes of sustainability to help support and gain more research on how my animation can be better, I picked the first video above as it shows a range of scenes that show the struggle of global warming. It also uses many conceptual transitions that can be used and improved in my animation.
What does it communicate? The Purpose?
Throughout each scene can be shown a number of different examples as to why our earth is rapidly changing. The issues going on through global warming are profoundly affecting our planet and I felt that this video presented these’s issues effectively through a number of different examples, which all came together to build this animation. It matches the purpose when referring back to sustainability, and how we can reduce and help stop the occurring problems.
Improvement that could be done?
Examples that are presented through the animation are all well shown and definitely back up to their purpose, however, I do feel as if some examples could have been demonstrated a little better. In one of the examples, it shows written text that is in another language which isn’t wrong, but for people like myself that do not speak this language, having it written in English can also allow a wide range of target audience to understand and become aware of the purpose of the video.
Why is it relevant?
Showing a clear and smooth visual of sustainability, where it comes from (each element) and how they affect the earth. Demonstrating and speaking in depth about why the chosen elements are harmful with a voice-over feature.
What does it communicate? The Purpose?
In a range of many different scenes and a lot of paper, the animations present their examples through detailed and carefully put together pieces of paper to show examples and exactly the purpose of each example, how they are happening and why their happening, and what they later result in. Purpose of this specific video speaks a lot about how to improve biodiversity, and how it can help with greenhouse gasses and global warming.
Improvement that could be done?
More conceptual transitions could be used in the animation to help really get the audience to feel and understand more in-depth effectively how these examples fit in with sustainability. However, one great example of conceptual design that was used, is the transition of the title at the start of the animation, which I could later use and improve on in my own work.
Why is it relevant?
Start of the video talks about how sustainability was built up right from the start, up until now, asking and getting the audience involved on how the audience can improve biodiversity. Showing a range of graphical diagrams and visuals that all use conceptual transitions to get their message across.
What does it communicate? The Purpose?
The purpose of this video links and speak a lot about biodiversity, and how to improve sustainability and look after our planet. Voice-over feature is used to speak upon the animation, as well as the graphical diagrams and text to help the audience understand further about the purpose of this animation. Many keywords were used which backed up their description a lot.
Improvement that could be done?
Further conceptual transitions could be used, possibly reaching deeper into greenhouse gasses rather than briefly touching on some ethical topics that are relevant to sustainability, but there are more examples that can be used rather than some ethical examples, however, the ethical examples are used briefly and not a lot.
