Making it Ethically Appropriate
Incorporating the same ethically approved information that was applied to the web design across all social media campaigns allows a fair spread of access and flexibility to all anywhere, at any time. Applying a mind mapping technique to help outline the following strategies for my app design, which were also aligned with my web design:
- Set Goals – to help set milestones and targets
- Target Audience – considering Muslims & non-Muslims, believers and non-believers
- Design/Structure – colour theory, typography and layout structure techniques
- Social Media Platforms (possible to consider) – sharing awareness of the app to gain an audience
- Further Engagement – expanding on the user interaction through various application designs
Reducing information to a certain extent doesn’t remove the meaning behind the information as well as still providing an equal amount of context to help with the design and structure within an app. Applications are formatted to help make quicker and more flexible access just by the tip of the finger.
It’s important to remember the ethical importance of an app, rather than only a website. Both platforms are widely open for everyone to access, making sure the following requirements are examined when designing the application:
- Content (applying the same information across all platforms for a consistent view and understanding)
- User privacy (assuring the audience of their data safety, even through an app)
- Cultural sensitivity (being aware of the sensitivity topics and subjects that may be effective to some people, ensuring a safe and educational space at all times)
Is it Sustainable?
Applications through mobile service are designed to be sufficient when it comes to being sustainable from an environmental perspective. Obtaining the following requirements when designing the application can help achieve those sustainable standards:
- Minimalistic Design (keeping the same level of simplicity across both web and app platforms for a better level of user experience with your target audience)
- Eco Friendly (being effectively responsive to the planet by reducing the amount of paper waste, whilst still providing the same level of educational storage through devices rather than paper)
