The Palm Jebel Ali > UX

Regarding the many popular places to visit around the world, a heartwarming place of mine in particular is Dubai. A family-orientated place for many people as tourists and guests to visit, the easy welcomes and kind people that are in the country make the place so much lighter. From understanding at a young age what growing up in a more open space meant, I had always dreamt of moving out and pursuing my dreams in a more open audience community, in a country where I felt most at comfort, and after the year had flown past me, I decided to finalise my final project of the year around a topic I could take away with me to present in the future.
Using the available abilities in VR, I’d like to have my user first be met with the Palm Jebel Ali only in a glass table, where it then further connects to the user’s attraction and allows them to zoom in to the table, so close that they land into the city of the Palm Jebel Ali. The user is then able to take a walk through the city and get a better and closer visual of the place, than wasting money on a flight just to see the place. My city will also include small (+) signs along the way to allow my users to see and get to know the city through small information icons, which introduce the name of a building to the user, and a small introduction to what it is, such as:
- Hotel
- Mall
- Cafe
- Take out
- Salon
- + and more
Places & Attractions at the location: (All of which may be included in the model when creating)
- Shows & concerts
- Adventure & Outdoor
- Water activities
- Theme parks
As this is targeted to a larger age group and it is a VR, this means that kids will not be able to use this programme. VR is still adapting and emerging to the world meaning that little kids and teens can have an effect towards VR if they’re not careful. This program is being created to allow older people who have an interest in visiting Dubai and seeing The Palm Jebel Ali, can use this programme to get an idea of the place before visiting and determine if they would like to go, aimed at an audience that shows interest in the place.
Goals to achieve:
- Allowing the user to get to know Dubai at a low cost
- Non-complex and makes it easy for the user
- Design and Structure to be ‘Dubai’ Standard
- Attract the correct group of the audience
Objectives to this project:
- Purpose
- Actionable
- Continuous
- Trackable
- UX (User Experience)
- Target Audience (18+)
