Choosing between Ethical and Sustainability, I decided to go with sustainability. I started by drawing the diagram below, the elements used alongside the earth with the earth itself are small ideas that may be used for my final animation later.

As previously mentioned in my choices of ethics and sustainability post, the features shown in the figure above highlight some key elements and objects that may be included in my final animation. Sketches were done to visually see and understand how these objects can be or should be used in my animation and to see if they fit the theme, as well as present the correct message my animation should demonstrate towards my audience.
Storyboard – Sustainability animation
First storyboard:

To take my ideas even further, I went ahead and started to plan and sketch out my storyboard, the first figure being a rough sketch in pencil as to how I wanted my animation to somehow present itself along scenes, the second image is the same storyboard only finally coloured and brought to life, to show more effectively how my story and scenes plan to look like when played.
Some elements of my first storyboard were later changed as I felt that there were no conceptual transitions through the scenes, to my understanding of my ideas, I wanted to bring more of the conceptual side of my animations across changing scenes to real my audience feel like they’re in the scene, which builds emotion and helps send across that message deeper, connecting with my audience the correct way.
Second storyboard:

As shown in the above figure, the elements that I had progressed to change were to take out the walking man in my first storyboard and put a more simple look to my animation. As it is my first time experimenting with Adobe Animate, this led me to change to something more simple and still worthy of my project, but still sends the correct message to my audience. Having the animation simple yet powerful can always be a safer option in terms of understanding and appearance, so keeping the image and design structure of my scenes stay consistent with the theme as I did not want too much going on for my audience to lose that connection and miss understanding my animation’s purpose.
However, after a couple more decision-making and re-thinking, I’ve decided to go with the original storyboard, but make slight changes throughout the scenes and alter the transitions.
